CANDLE MONSTER
The idea of creating Candle Monster sparked from some recurring dreams about childhood and family. The creative process of the piece is an experimentation of how personal and intimate memories can be used as a tool to create choreographic material and text, and a way of releasing the feeling of nostalgia.
In an effort to analyse her dreams the character on stage mixes movement and text to bring her memories to life, exposing and satirising the feeling of nostalgia. Shifting between present and past and diving into a world of dreams she remembers a time and a place that now feels distant.
